Interview with Soccer Player Jarom Martinez
by Alizay Chavez '21
Earlier this week the soccer team finally won a game; Jarom was happy about it and so was the rest of the team. Soccer has changed Jarom’s life. He has learned how to be a better person because of soccer, it’s helped him with qualities such as sportsmanship. Martinez wants to win every game, but that is not always the case. Even though, he might not win every game he plays he still has fun.
Soccer has changed “the way [he talks] about soccer” and how much he watches it now. Jarom loves to play soccer; to him, soccer is the best sport in the world. Nothing compares to soccer. Jarom finds so much joy in playing soccer, just being able to play soccer makes him happy. It gives him life. It has helped him push through life’s daily struggles. After winning his first game, he had felt an amazing feeling that went through him.
Joel Hernandez on Gallup High's Upcoming Homecoming Game
by Rubi Reyes '21
Many Bengal students feel very nervous about the homecoming game on Friday. How will our football team do? Will we be defeated or will we be victorious? I sat down with football player Joel Hernandez and got to ask him a few questions. When asked, “How do you feel about Homecoming?” He answered with, “ I feel like I am going to have a walk in the park homecoming game.” Gallup High will be facing Shiprock High on Friday September the 15th at 7pm. Joel responded to my question, “How do you think you guys will do?” and said, “As far as my team goes I feel like they’re about 85% ready to take them on.” I asked him, “Why do you like playing football?” To that he said “It's what I do. Some people sing, some people dance, and I play football.”
Last Week's Poll Results!
