"It's a crazy world, so sports and athletics and music can be a form of escapism."

NFL Owner to Make a Stand

There was a lot of bias against the flag, as all eyes were on the Cowboys Monday night football game against the Cardinals. What were the Cowboys going to do sit, kneel, or sit in the locker room? What they did was very different they locked arms and kneeled before the flag separated. Once the flag did separate, they all stood up and put their right hand over their chest while locking arms to represent both sides. Jerry Jones said, “ I just feel so strongly that the act of recognizing the flag is a salute to the country and all of the people that have sacrificed so that we can have the liberties we have.” He then pointed to his players, “If you do not honor and stand for the flag in the way that a lot of our fans feel that you should, then you won’t play.” The Dallas Cowboys won against the 49ers, 40-10, Sunday, October 22. A student Alexis Escarsega at Gallup High says he agrees with Jones, “You should honor the flag because our founding fathers sacrificed so much for our country. The least we can do is stand and honor our country.”
